Sure-Flo II Diesel Additive
DESCRIPTION:
SURE-FLO II is a multi-component product designed
to improve cold operability of vehicles while reducing fleet owner's cost. The
multiple components give it maximum effectiveness in a wide variety of base fuels.
It is designed to reduce, or possible replace blending with #1 fuel oil. A
good rule of thumb is that it can often replace the first 20-30% of #1 fuel oil.
COMPONENTS: Wax Modifiers - to alter the size and shape of the wax
crystals, inhibiting continued
growth and resulting in finer wax crystals in the fuel, which allow better flow through
fuel filters.
Deicer to reduce the freeze point of the free water in the fuel, which
results in less filter plugging, or fuel line freeze-up. This component reduces the
freeze point from 32° F to at least -20° F, as long as the water content is under 100
ppm.
Lubricity Enhancer to provide added protection for pumps and injectors with
lighter winter fuels and winter blends and #1 blends.
Wax Anti-Settling Additives (WASA) to help keep the wax crystals dispersed
more evenly in the fuel. When fuel molecules crystallize to form wax, they can often
settle to the bottom of the storage container. When fuel is removed from the area
containing the concentrated wax, filters will plug more readily than they would if the wax
was dispersed. The WASA helps prevent this problem.
STORAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Keep stored above -25° F and away from fire
If the drum freezes, warm to room temperature, roll on side to ensure homogeneity, then
use as directed
Keep drum sealed to prevent contamination
BLENDING INSTRUCTIONS:
Additive is to be blended into the fuel at time of delivery. For
best results, add at least 15 F above the fuels cloud point. Take
advantage of best method of agitation. Don't pour SURE-FLO II into an empty, cold tank.
Instead, premix the additive with an equal amount of fuel, or add it to the tank
after some of the fuel has been added. The additive will be mixed from the agitation
that occurs while the remainder of the tank is filled. For best mixing, add SURE-FLO
II when the fuel is warmest. A normal treat rate is one gallon per 1250 gallons of
fuel. Fuels that are less responsive can be treated at one gallon per 800 or by
using an additional amount of #1 fuel.
SURE-FLO II TESTING INSTRUCTIONS:
No single CFPP additive can work equally well in all base fuels.
We've tested many different types of chemistry and selected one that works best in
most fuels. For this reason, fuels that are going to be treated with SURE-FLO
II should be tested for CFPP response.
